I like to watch the world wake
Monday, January 7, 2008

As mentioned before, I've always loved going to the airport, esp in the wee hours of the morning, because it's a different world inside, a stark contrast to the dark, lazy skies outside.

Such a rare opportunity dun come by often, so I made full use of it by detouring to Little India to see its morning glory.

Oh well, it wasn't that glorious. In fact, the air there was slow and lazy, in contrary to what I had thought of: teeming with migrant workers grocery shopping in Tekka, just like it definitely is in the evening. Perhaps I forgot that like Singaporeans, they would like to sleep in on a sunday morning too.

And so, a few bicycles cruised by. Samosas in hand, tea alia hooked by the handle, they rode on singlehandedly, while the stationary ones enjoy a weekend newspaper by the roadside.

Cars and pedastrians were few, and a slight breeze blew. Soon, the aroma of fresh, crisp roti prata beckons, but I did not succuumb to it. Continuing my leisure walk and taking in every sight, I wished I had a SLR to capture still shots of what I've seen.

The time slid by. Slowly but surely, the town woke. The traffic became heavier. Soon, the sun beats down with all its might at noon, and I know it's time to hide from it.

Watching the world rouse... seeing life at its simplicity.... Blissss....
An A-rated walk!
